Both CRUNCH CFD and CRISP CFD were used in a study to investigate the flow coupling between an F/A-18 and CVN class aircraft carrier during the recovery process. An unsteady, dynamic CFD simulation with moving grid was used to track aircraft along the prescribed flight path.
