CRUNCH CFD has well-validated capabilities to model tank sloshing, tank pressurization and quenching in feed systems. Our code features a generalized non-ideal EOS for liquid and vapor allowed  for cryogenic fluid tanks. Sloshing with surface tension effects are modeled both under gravity and zero-G. We are also able to model pressurization due to external heat flux. Finally, CRUNCH CFD’s UDF capability allows for users to specify specific heat flux profiles and also couple with other utilities.

One of the key validation cases is a sloshing drop tank experiment conducted by NASA. A multiphase simulation was performed using CRUNCH CFD with gas-liquid interface being resolved as part of the calculation. In the experiment, petroleum ether was used as the liquid simulant and air was the vapor simulant.
